Anastasia Slepchenkova Anastasia is a recent graduate of the Chelyabinsk Institute of Culture, where she earned her degree in Film and Television Directing with a focus on pedagogy in February 2024. For her thesis project, she directed a documentary film with the support of her mentors, Professor Stella Viktorovna Panova and cinematographer Nikolai Valeryevich Telezhnikov. The film tells the personal and poignant story of her grandmother’s journey to reunite with her sister after 40 years of separation. Anastasia briefly worked at the regional OTV television channel, where she realized that her true passion lies in filmmaking. She is currently working on a new documentary about a mother raising a daughter with special needs. Over the past several years, Anastasia has been mentored and deeply inspired by Anna Nesterova. It is thanks to Anna’s dedication, belief, and guidance that Anastasia was able to complete her training and continue developing her craft in the profession she loves. Anastasia was thrilled to join The Mutt, creating original video work to capture the authenticity of Dostoevsky’s Russian winter. Over the course of a year, she traveled to remote places in Russia to capture the beauty, emotional disturbance, and vulnerability of the landscape—visual narratives she is honored to share with audiences in New York City. |
