Anoushka Nesterova
Anoushka is a versatile teaching artist based in New York City. She holds a degree in directing from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (VGIK). Her initial education was in dramatic theatre acting.
After relocating to New York, she further honed her craft through the conservatory program at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, as well as dance studies at Peridance Capezio Center and Ballet Arts. Throughout her training, she had the privilege of working and performing with a diverse array of directors and choreographers.
Since then, Anoushka has performed and taught across New York, collaborating with esteemed companies such as New Wave Arts, Steps Theatre, American Ballet Russe, American Swiss Ballet, and Encounters Dance, among others.
Among her most treasured projects are her one-woman show Anoushka, written and directed specifically for her by Chloe Reisen, and her recent portrayal of Jeanne Duval in the second season of Baudelaire’s Passions at the American Theatre of Actors, where she embodied the mysterious, dark muse of the legendary poet.
Currently, Anoushka is immersed in her passion project—an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov. Co-directing alongside Elena Che and collaborating with Gisela Quinteros and other talented artists has been an inspiring journey, and she is excited to see their shared vision come to life.
